Bloc Party reunite

Bloc Party have reunited over the festive period.

The band have been on a hiatus since 2009 as each member focusses on their individual projects. The band posted a picture on their twitter account which shows the band all together once again.

Kele stated earlier this year that he was unsure if the band would ever record again... Hopefully he was joking as it would be great to see them working together again.

Winehouse lyrics found in bin

Early lyrics from a young Amy Winehouse have surfaced in a bin in the north London area. The adolescent musings include a collection of lyrics, thoughts and notes handwritten in the singer's diary.

Winehouse is currently on the comeback trail with a tour planned to commence in 2011.

Flaming Lips in 2011

Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips has told The Guardian newspaper about the band's plans for the coming year. Coyne says that the band plans to release a song each month for 2011 instead of releasing a conventional album.

The process is said to commence in late January when the band will meet with longtime producer Dave Fridmann and get the first song ready for release.

Gorillaz over?

Damon Albarn announced last night the current Gorillaz lineup are unlikely to perform as a collective ever again. The band finished their world tour last night in Auckland and an obviously emotional and sentimental Albarn told the audience that the artists including Daley and Bobby Womack may not tour again.

As announced earlier this week, a free Gorillaz album is set to be released on Christmas day as the final treat of their advent calendar.

Bez and the bare knuckle fight

Bez of the Happy Mondays has found a unique and old school way to deal with his woman trouble. Bez has apparently been involved in an organised bare knuckle fight with his ex's new boyfriend to sort the situation out.

Bez was photographed by The Sun and wasnt looking too good, hopefully all this is sorted now before either get another kick-in.

Another ridiculous anecdote in the life of the ex-Monday.

50 Cent gets robbed... of wine

Today greeted me with a rather piece of ridiculous news concerning rapper 50 Cent. The rapper's Connecticut home was visited by police early this morning after they were alerted by 50's security. The security team were suspicious as they saw a vehicle parked on the driveway that they did not recognise.

The police searched the house and found two stoners in the closet drinking the rapper's wine. The two were promptly escorted off the premises and arrested.

Gorillaz have been bringing the Christmas cheer this year with their own advent calendar available on their website. Fans have been able to access exclusive pictures, videos, etc from the calendar but the question floating about is: what is behind the 25th door.

Albarn has made no secret that he is close to completing the next Gorillaz album as he has been working on it whilst they have been on their first world tour. Rumour has it that on the 25th December, behind the door will be the brand new album available for FREE to download.

If this is true... what an amazing way to end an incredible year.

The Human League - "Credo" tracklisting

Following the announcement last month that The Human League were to record a new album and go on tour, the tracklisting to their 10th studio album "Credo" has be released.

The album is set to be released in March 2011 and will consist of the following:

"Never let Me Go"
"Night People"
"Into The Night"
"Single Minded"
"Electric Shock"
"Get Together"
"Breaking The Chains"

A Tribe Called Quest - documentary not happening?

Q Tip has tweeted to state that he is against the much anticipated (and very delayed) documentary about the seminal rap collective.

Q Tip said that he was not happy with Michael Rappaport's attempt at the documentary and says that it has "holes". What has sparked this sudden beef is unknown and Q has been vague about his inclusion during the whole process. However it is fair to say that a documentary about ATCQ without Q Tip would be a real shame for fans.

Susan Philipsz wins Turner Prize

Susan Philipsz has won the Turner Prize for her sound installation which consists of the artist singing three versions of a Scottish lament.

Philipsz beat stiff competition from The Otolith Group, Angela de la Cruz and Dexter Dalwood to pick up the prestigious award and the £25,000 prize money.

The artist told the BBC that the news had not yet sunk in that she was pleased for the exposure that the award will give her. The Stuckists have criticised the award stating that the Turner Prize should be awarded to a piece of art, not a conceptual piece of music. Apart from this criticism, the result has been applauded for given sound art a much needed "shot in the arm".

Gorillaz over?

Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett have hinted that Gorillaz could be ending following a fantastically successful year.

The pair told The Guardian that this would be the perfect time for the group to call it a day. The band have just completed their first worldwide tour and Albarn is not convinced that they can continue at their current pace.

However, Albarn has recently said that he has almost completed the next Gorillaz album which could be out early January. The album has reportedly been created using only an Apple iPad despite the group currently endorsing Microsoft Windows.

So a new album... Atleast that's something

Kim and Kanye not having a nipper

Contrary to rumours that surfaced yesterday, Kim Kardashian is not about to carry Mr West's offspring.

A website had reported yesterday that a close friend of Kim had confirmed that she was pregnant by the rapper. However, Kim has made a statement today rubbishing these claims stating that she was not pregnant... Let alone with Kanye's kiddie.

Kanye heads up Billboard

"My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" has, as expected, topped the Billboard charts after shifting almost 500,000 copies in it's first week.

Nicki's debut had a strong week moving around 375,000 to take the number 2 spot. This is the strongest debut from a female MC since Lauryn Hill.

"My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" is still receiving critical acclaim from all with a current metacritic rating of 98.
