The Stone Roses make live comeback

Now this is news I can barely contain my excitement in reporting.

After a 16 year break, The Stone Roses played a warmup gig in Warrington Parr Hall getting ready for the Heaton Park shows. The gig was announced last minute via the band's official website with fans being able to collect one wristband upon producing: a CD, official t shirt, record sleeve or Heaton Park ticket.

Liam Gallagher was in attendance, Browny baited the crowd for tweeting instead of "living in the moment" and rapped as "Love Spreads" concluded - in conclusion, those who got a ticket were lucky bastards.

The Roses played the following:

'I Wanna Be Adored'
'Mersey Paradise'
'Sally Cinnamon'
'Made Of Stone'
'(Song For My) Sugar Spun Sister'
'Where Angels Play'
'Shoot You Down'
'She Bangs The Drums'
'Love Spreads'

LimeWire and the $72 trillion lawsuit... and it's quick demise

Ex-Peer-2-Peer software program has the been given the odd honour of the largest lawsuit of all time.

The Recording Industry Association of America had attempted to hit LimeWire with a lawsuit under s.504(c) Copyright Act to the tune of $72 trillion.

Now, it seems that the RIAA didn't fully consider the numbers as $72 trillion is around the same amount of all the money on earth combined. Not surprisingly Judge Wood, who is currently hearing the case, has branded the claim as "absurd" and has dangerous connotations for future interpretations of the statute.

RIAA... continuing to make themselves look idiotic.

Maurice Sendak passes away

Beloved author and illustrator, Maurice Sendak, has passed away at the age of 83.

The news came from Sendak's long time editor, Michael di Capua, who informed the press that Maurice had after complications arising from a stroke.

Sendak is perhaps most famous for his writing/illustrations in "Where the Wild Things Are" which, despite being released in 1963, has been loved by generations of children. Most recently, Spike Jonze, directed a big screen film for the treasured story.

I think it's time to dig the book out for another read.

"Hips and Lips" - Maximo Park - Official Video

Adam Yauch (MCA), one of the founding members of the iconic hip-hop group - Beastie Boys, has passed away today.

Russell Simmons, co-founder of Def Jam, broke the news on his website earlier today.

Simmons wrote that "Adam was incredibly sweet and the most sensitive artist who I loved dearly. I was always inspired by his work. He will be missed by all of us".

It is no secret that Adam was having his health issues as he was treated for a cancerous parotid gland and a lymph node and underwent surgery and radiation therapy. Also, he missed the group's induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to focus on his recovery.

Nonetheless, the news comes as a great shock and he will be sorely missed

Thanks for the memories Adam...
